Shoot Em Up
Ibara P1Ship

The Silister Similis is the ship piloted by Negotiator Agent 01, Bond in Ibara. During the 19th century, it was built in secret by the Northern European country of Edelweiss. In response to the Rose Garden's attempt at world domination, the Emperor grants Bond this ship to oppose the Rose Garden. Bond is also given two gun-like objects that are the keys to his new ship.

This ship has faster movement and a more forward focused shot in comparison to its counterpart, the Dio Spirossi. Additional ship types change movement speed, how Options are locked, shot types, and bomb types.

Weapons[]

Main Shot:[]

This ship has four different shot types, which depend on the ship type:

  • Type A: Mostly forward focused shot with slight spread.
  • Type B: Straight forward shot.
  • Type C: Forward focused shot with some piercing effects; bullets can travel through enemies.
  • Type D: Straight forward shot.

Options:[]

Aside from its narrow shot, which can be powered up seven times, the Silister Similis can equip up to three Options:

  1. Left of the Ship
  2. Right of the Ship
  3. Behind the Ship

Formations:[]

These Options can be set into four unique formations:

  • Wide: Left and Right Options angle dramatically outwards and will no longer rotate, regardless of Ship Type. Rear Option points forward.
  • Search: Options will aim at enemies automatically, and remain 'locked on' without pilot intervention.
  • Rolling: Options rotate continuously while firing.
  • Back: Options point backwards instead of forwards.

Types:[]

Options come in seven different types:

Ibara MachineGun

Machine Gun: Low damage, high continuous rate of fire.

Ibara Gatling

Gatling: Low damage, short burst fire.

Ibara 5Way

5-Way: Very wide spread shot.

Ibara Burner

Burner: Flamethrower that delivers high damage in bursts.

Ibara Napalm

Napalm: Bomb that delivers high damage with a small AoE explosion.

Ibara Rocket

Rocket: Rockets that deal medium damage, but pierces multiple enemies or boss parts. Excellent against large targets.

Ibara Homing

Homing: A medium damage homing weapon. Generally outclassed by other Options.

Bombs[]

Ibara Bomb Example

Example of a Full Bomb in Ibara, showing range and destructive power. Ship: Type A

Bombs are a secondary weapon, alongside the Main Shot and Options. They are capable of dealing very high amounts of damage, can cancel incoming bullets, and can cover huge areas. Bombs are a very powerful survival tool - though for this purpose they are generally outclassed by the Hadou Gun.

However, bombs are a finite resource; ammunition is limited, and must be collected from the environment in the form of Bomb Fragments or rare Full Bomb items. Up to 40 Fragments and 4 Full Bombs may be carried at any one time. A Full Bomb is composed of 40 Fragments; when the ship collects the 40th Fragment, the Fragments are converted into a Full Bomb and the Fragment count is emptied. When a Bomb is used, it will consume one Full Bomb from the stock. If there aren't any Full Bombs available, it will instead consume all the currently held Bomb Fragments. If there isn't least one Bomb Fragment, the ship cannot use a Bomb.

Ibara Bond Bomb Comparison

Bond's bomb variants by ship subtype. From left to right:
Type A - Forward wide spread
Type B - Straight forward
Type C - Homing
Type D - Forward thrown

Depending on the number of Fragments that were consumed to use the Bomb, the strength, duration, and radius of the Bomb explosion may vary. Which parameters are affected by Fragment count is determined by the Ship type:

  • Type A: Fired forward in a 'V' spread.
  • Type B: Fired directly forward in an inverted 'V' wave.
  • Type C: Homing missile with continuous trail. Can be difficult to control when many enemies are present.
  • Type D: Forward thrown bomb.

Hadou Gun[]

Ibara Hadou Example

The Hadou Gun's phases of operation.
A - Hadou is Armed.
B - Hadou has been released but the projectile is still traveling.
C - Hadou projectile has 'stuck' the boss and caused a persistent explosion. It has also left behind a trail.

The Silister Similis' most distinctive weapon is the Hadou Gun (Wave Motion Gun). It consists of a missile projectile fired from the ship fired directly forwards from the ship's current position. The missile will deal significant damage to anything it touches in flight, usually enough to instantly destroy most small or midsize enemies; however, if it collides with a large target, it will explode on impact. The explosion from the Hadou missile will 'stick' to whatever it hits. In addition to the explosion, the Hadou missile also creates a trail behind it as it travels. Both the trail and the explosion persist for a few seconds, continuously dealing damage over time to enemies or destructible objects while canceling all bullets that collide with them.

However, there are two weakeness to using the Hadou Gun. First is that it requires one Full Bomb in order to use. Second is that unlike the process of using a Bomb, the Hadou firing process is also interruptable; it is possible for the ship to be hit while attempting to use a Hadou, which results in lost resources but no Hadou being fired. This is (slightly) mitigated by the Aura Flash, but it only lasts for a split-second and only triggers when arming a Hadou.

Aura Flash[]

Ibara Aura Flash Radius

The 'Aura Flash' at maximum radius.

Aura Flash is a tiny 'flash' around the ship that will appear when you Bomb, Power Up to the next full power level for the Main Shot, gain a new or different Option, build a Full Bomb, or arm a Hadou. It makes the ship briefly invulnerable, cancels a very small ring of bullets around the player, and does a huge amount of damage, even being able to be used as a pseudo-bomb. However, its weakness is that it lasts an incredibly short time and has miniscule range.
